Alva bottleless water purification systems have been tried, tested, approved, signed, sealed and certified by the world’s top standards bodies.



  These two US organizations set and regulate national and international safety standards :

  • NSF/ANSI 55 Class A : This is the standard for ultraviolet microbiological water treatment systems. Alva Firewall systems are certified as a Class A system (40,000 uwsec/cm2) designed to disinfect and/or remove microorganisms from contaminated water, including bacteria and viruses, to a safe level.
  • NSF P231 : USEPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) Standard for Microbiological Water Purifiers.


Alva products have the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials’ (IAMPO) platinum seal of approval. IAPMO R&T is recognised globally for technical excellence in certifying water, mechanical, electrical, and food equipment that meet the highest standards of public health, safety, and environmental quality.


Our dispensers have got the approval of the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) in the UK. This tests for water quality and makes sure water dispenser materials and components meet rigorous safety requirements. WRAS aims to prevent waste, undue consumption, misuse, erroneous measurement or contamination of water by developing and enforcing national and international standards.

ETL/UE Safety Standards

Our POU dispensers meet the stringent safety and environmental standards of North American and European regulators: ETL certified: North American certificate of conformity of facilities. UE certified: European marking that is a manufacturer’s declaration that the product complies with European Union health, safety and environmental protection legislation thus passing CE safety standards.


ISO 9001 is the internationally accepted standard for well managed organizations that have adopted the key quality management principles to its operations. Essentially it is a sign that the organization has in place the systems and processes to ensure a consistent quality of service. Fundamental elements of this standard are shaped around; customer focus, management control and decision making, involvement of main stakeholders and a culture of continuing improvement.
